Week 4, Part 1/2 Game Ideation


This post is all about game ideation, based on the theme "Break the System".

1. Set in a not-so-distant future, the AI controlled security system at a corporation HQ has gone rogue. You must make your way from the ground floor to the roof to disable the system. On the way, you will fight robotic enemies, hack into security systems, and upgrade your own cybernetic enhancements. The prototype would focus on gameplay, including combat and hacking. The target audience is 15 years+ and is relevant given recent advances in AI technology.

Inspiration: System Shock 2, Crusader: No Remorse.

2. Aimed at a younger audience (8 years+) this game would involve rearranging the "pieces" of a level, like a jigsaw puzzle, to overcome obstacles. Story: A young man wants to marry the princess of "jigsaw world", but the queen sets a challenge which he must overcome - she scrambles the world and he must put it back together to have her blessing.

Inspiration: Monument Valley, Lego mobile games.
